Greetings from Japan. We arrived not long ago, and are just biding the time away til we sleep… we are staying awake for as long as possible in the hope that we can minimise the effects of jetlag! Not sure if it is working..
This is my first time visiting a country with a language that I really cannot understand. A lovely woman just stopped me at the restaurant asking me loads of questions, making signs that looked like swimming and running. I threw in a couple of gestures to indicate I was a rower and said “Ireland Rowing” repeatedly.. I am still not sure if that was the right answer. It brings home how ignorant we are to other cultures really… Still I enjoyed my feast of sushi! The food looks like it will be perfect for lightweights!
Wish I could say the same about the weather. While it is lovely and warm at the moment, a little bit humid, maybe, everything is set to go off the rails at the weekend when two typhoons are treatening a visit…great…the only thing that can postpone racing is extreme thundery winds. They are just off the coast at the minute, and have a route lined out in our direction!!!!
Ah well, can’t control the weather either, so no point stressing…aren7t we all in the same boat…
I think my short little bed in my compact little room is beckoning!!!
