Another UIUC freesheet

May 7th, 2006 | by aobaoill |

Last Monday, May Day, as I passed a newspaper bin on campus that usually holds copies of a conservative freesheet I noticed that it held instead a number of copies of a glossy publication that featured the unlikely question “Where is the Revolution?”
It turns out that this is an issue of La Carta, a Latino student publication that has been going for over 30 years – this was V34 Iss. 3, the April 2006 edition. It had some rather interesting pieces, centred around the theme of revolution, both internal and societal. With pieces as varied as an analysis of the role of women in the EZLN and commentary on the ‘Chief’ it’s a well-designed and interesting publication.
