Finishing work, and Seanad election over

So, its been a while, hasn’t it? While I was finishing up in eircom, the Seanad elections finished last week, and most of the members of the new Seanad were elected. Included in the successful ones were Brendan Ryan of Labour, in the NUI panel – in fact all six university senators were reelected. Interestingly, Des Geraghty failed to gain a seat in the Labour panel, as Michael McCarthy, one of Labour’s youngest Dail candidates in the last election, gained a seat, along with Joanna Tuffy, Derek McDowell and Kathleen O’Meara.

Having finished working, my main focus at the moment is preparing for my imminent move to the States. As I will have limited internet access over the next few weeks, I can’t promise many updates, but we’ll see how things pan out.
