NAB changes stance on FCC rules, again

August 1st, 2003 | by aobaoill |

According to Radio World Online the NAB has once again decided to support a partial reversal of the FCC rule changes. They are – once again – backing a bill that brings the TV-audience cap back from 45% to 35%. They had removed their approval because it looked like ‘anti-broadcast’ changes would be attached to the bill. By which they meant, for example, the reintroduction of the newspaper-tv crossownership ban. Seems they now think it less likely that these other measures will pass. Ah, the complicated role of the lobbyist.
