Two stories from Mayo today: First Michael Ring has launched his court challenge to the ending of the dual mandate. He claims the move is an “illegitimate, undemocratic attempt to re-engineer membership of Dáil Éireann, based on an elitist political theory.”
More directly on the electronic voting theme, the Mayo News is reporting the arrival of electronic voting machines in Mayo. News of problems with the machines is left to the last two paragraphs, with a comment from Labour’s Johnny Mee who comments that “we saw what happened in Florida.”
