Helicopter attacks on civilians and children

The footage of the (aftermath of the) helicopter attack on protesters in the refugee camp at Rafah was particularly upsetting, and Michael D Higgins asks an important (if rhetorical) question: “What is the moral difference between suicide bombings and helicopter attacks that leave civilians dead?” He calls on both the US (as principle supplier of weapons to the Israelis) and the Irish government (as holders of the EU presidency) to act. It’s difficult to imagine a way out of this mutually-destructive cycle, but there really needs to be one….
