Wapping has a special significance in UK Labour history – 18 years ago (is it really that long?) Murdoch broke the printers’ unions in moving from Fleet Street to his new facility in Wapping, laying off thousands in the process. Now MediaGuardian reports that “Rupert Murdoch is planning to axe up to two-thirds of printing staff from Wapping”
