Lockout of musicians in St Louis

February 4th, 2005 | by aobaoill |

A friend passed me a mail about the lockout of the St Louis Symphony Orchestra earlier today:

The musicians of the St Louis Symphony Orchestra were locked out by symphony management on 3 Jan. The musician’s health care was abruptly cut, auditions have been cancelled, three union members were laid off on the very same day they donated time for a tsunami benefit concert, and the Youth Orchestra kids haven’t been allowed to use the rehearsal hall because mgmt wants to force the musicians’ hands.
