Radio host fired for rebroadcasting congressional coverage

April 13th, 2005 | by aobaoill |

This is a strange issue. A public radio host aired audio he had recorded from C-SPAN. His station fired him, without notice, for “gross violation of federal copyright law and consequently WRPI’s policy.” Thing is – C-SPAN doesn’t believe there’s been any breach of copyright and didn’t complain. Ah, over-active copyright cops, where would we be without you….
