For those whose minds have wandered recently to Gil Scott-Heron’s classic, BIPlog’s homage is a wonderfully timely update.
I’ve also received poetry from friends in response to the start of war, and (unanimously positive) responses to my letter to An Taoiseach. It seems that the events we see around us are provoking many not just into passive stupor, but into feeling that they must express themselves, act. Not be silent.
I’ve been fairly busy over the last few days, so haven’t had a chance to update on the events in U-C, but it’s the same here. About 1000 people gathered in the Quad on Thursday – a mixture of school children, students, staff, townspeople. I’ll give a more detailed account shortly, when I have time. Now, though, time to head to the weekly vigil on Prospect Avenue.
