Hersh at U of I

I’m sitting at the Seymour Hersh talk at Foellinger at the moment. Nominally it’s part of the IIMPR media conference, and it’s also a CAS talk. He’s said some interesting stuff about Iraq and parallels with Vietnam. What’s energised the crowd though was the questioner who introduced himself as a Bush supporter and challenged Hersh’s claim that American democracy is in peril, with the questioner arguing that this is “just because you’re on the losing side.” Unsurprisingly unpopular with the audience.
