Call for participants – radio show

May 21st, 2005 | by aobaoill |

As many of my Urbana-based readers (and even you Champaign people) will know I’m involved with a group that’s starting a new (licensed) radio station shortly – WRFU FM. I’m pulling together a group to work on a media analysis show. We hope to cover more than just the U.S. – I’ve already been working on getting some correspondents in Ireland.
Which is the point of this post. If you would be interested in taking part in this radio show, as a regular or occasional correspondent, you need not be based in Urbana-Champaign. Drop me an email (andrew [AT] funferal.org ) letting me know your name, contact details (email, phone), expertise/experience and areas you would be interested in covering.
My plan is to pre-record short pieces with correspondents over the phone (possibly using a VoIP service such as Skype) or through a tool such as iChat. These will be edited and incorporated into the half hour programme, which will br transmitted live on WRFU and recorded for syndication using RSS and similar tools. Advice is welcome (leave details in the comments below).
I’m interested, of course, in potential syndication partners – stations and others who would be interested in broadcasting/retransmitting the show. Let me know either in comments or by email. Of course for many of you this is an unknown proposition – I hope to have at least a dry-run available within the next 4-6 weeks.

How exciting. I would be interested in being involved. Some of tuppenceworth’s other far flung writers may also be interested. I’ll let them know.

Cool. I really think this should be fun. We should be on at least a few stations each side of the Atlantic and we’ll have a good broad group of contributors (vacancies still available) so I’m hoping we can have an informative and useful show.
