More Moore

I wondered what he’d say, and he didn’t disappoint:

He said that we love non-fiction but live in a time of fiction, where a fictitous president with a fictitious election win could send us on a war for fictitious reasons.

Congratulations Michael Moore!

On a related note, it’s an old joke, but a good one:

So I called my advisors and I said to them: ‘The rest of the world thinks we are wrong.’ Dick didn’t know what ‘think’ is. Colin didn’t know what ‘wrong’ is. And Donald didn’t know what ‘rest of the world’ is.

Though perhaps ‘wrong’ should have been attributed to Donald, or Mr. Perle.

On a related note, I just got pointed to this interesting analysis on Talking Points Memo. Shows that the US endorsed the necessity of the two-step process when 1441 was approved. It was, of course, the US posturing subsequently that led to other countries digging in their heels so deeply. That and, as is pointed out, the fact that the US saw 1441 as a step on the way to war (and obviously wanted to move things on as fast as possible), while others saw it as a way to avoid war.
