WILL-AM to drop some syndicated programming

Looks like budgetary concerns are leading my local NPR AM affiliate (where I work on Media Matters) to drop certain syndicated programming, including A Prairie Home Companion and Sound Money.

That link to Media Matters doesn’t seem to work. Any chance of another?

Sorry about that – it should be fixed now….

Sound Money sucks anyway. It’s the bane of my Saturday. Just when I start to get into a nice NPR groove they start talking about retirement security and IPOs. What’s up with that?

You have a point, though it is better, IMHO, than Wall Street Week from Fortune, which immediately follows it – many commentators have, of course, commented on the undue amount of time devoted to the stock markets on radio and the ideological import of that.
In other news, it looks like WILL-FM – a station I don’t actually listen to myself – is cutting a local show, Jazz Corner presented by Mick Woolf who also manages local community station WEFT. These are not fun days in public radio here in the ‘States. Of course it’s not fun anywhere really, with the BCC announcing major lay-offs, trouble in Radio France, etc., etc.

Sorry, comments for this entry are closed at this time.
