Labour conference endorses pact concept

I have to say I agree with Tommy Broughan. I haven’t heard yet what’s happening with the EU constitution issue.
Update: It seems the two motions dealing with the party’s position on the constitution will be dealt with tomorrow morning (in the session that no one attends – at my last Labour conference I was physically at that session, one of around 100 or so, but like most people was at the far side of a long night. I know the international stuff tends to be left to the Sunday morning, but for such a crucial, and potentially controversial, vote you’d think they’d bring it forward somewhat.) Interesting to see the UCC student branch table an amendment to one of the motions to reverse its meaning. Actually, given the low turnout to the Sunday sessions there is a possibility of an upset, though I wouldn’t count on it.
